Am I being scammed??

Am I being scammed??

I received a "-bill"- in the mail that claims to be from an auto insurance company called "-Viking Insurance Company of Wisconsin"-. The bill states that it is an "-Installment Notice"- and and also states "-This is the only installment offer you will receive. We will NOT send any reminder installment offers."-It shows the "-Producer"-s address as:Pc Insurance Agency Inc6333 Stockton Blvd Ste ASacramento, CA 95823The phone # is: 916-391-5990However, when I search up the phone # on google I got this address:Pc Insurance Agency6830 Stockton Blvd Ste 100cSacramento, CA 95823Notice the name and address are slightly different.. such as the Ste. number, the zip code, and the building number...So then I decided to look up the fake address on google. I typed down "-6333 Stockton Blvd Ste A"- and this is what I found:Hoan Bui - Capital Home Realty6333 Stockton Blvd, Suite ASacramento CA 95824What does Capital Home Realty have to do with automobile insurance?

Answer from a General Insurance Agent. If you never purchased any insurance from this Viking Insurance Company, then obviously it is some sort of marketing scheme. There really is an Insurance Company Named "Viking Insurance Company" but that does not mean it was actually them who sent you this letter. I have reviewed their product lines in the past but they were too expensive for my taste.Whether it is illegal or actually a scam under your states laws would depend on the wording of the phony looking bill.Read the bill carefully, most likely somewhere on the letter or bill you will find wording to this effect " This is an offer or solicitation" of some type. If not, then it could be a phishing scam trying to get you to release some type of account information to them. Some sleazy agents and marketers will use phony looking bills as marketing tools.I get stuff like that in the mail all the time.. Usually they are selling warranties.Take care and good luck.

Viking Insurance of Wisconsin is a real company. It is owned by Sentry Insurance of Stevens Point, WI. http://www.sentry.comTheir phone is 1-800-3SENTRY.I can vouch that both companies are legit as I have been to their offices. Now as Alan said that might not stop a scumbag from using Vikings name. However, many Real Estate Agencies also own Insurance agencies I see it quite a bit.I would suggest that you call Sentry's Home Office at the number above and get more info.Good LuckSource(s):Claim adjuster for way too long.

I SAY. KEEP DOING YOUR RESEARCH!!! YOU SOUND LIKE YOU ARE ON THE PROWL FOR SOME ANSWERS. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO ANYONE THAT GIVES YOU THAT UNEASY FEELING IN YOUR GUT. FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS AND KEEP ASKING AROUND. CALL THE POLICE DEPT IN THAT AREA AND SEE IF THEY EVER HEARD OF THAT PARTICULAR CO. THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY SENT YOU THAT NOTICE, THEN IF YOU FEEL THAT ALL IS WELL, THEN SEND A CHECK THAT CAN BE TRACED ON WHO ACTUALLY CASHES IT. KEEP THE UPPER HAND SO YOU CAN SHOW THAT ALL YOUR TRACKS ARE COVERED IN PROVING YOURSELF.
