Can I drive my friends car without insurance in the province of ontario, canada?

I do not have a vehicle, nor do I have an auto policy, but I have a valid G class drivers license. Can I driver my friends car, which is insured (I think under her Mothers policy, and Im pretty sure She is covered..She drives it all the time..) without getting a penalty IF we get pulled over? (She would be in the vehicle with me):)

If you are pulled over and your friend is in the car, you will be asked for proof of insurance. As long as it is there you are fine on this point. However, if you have an accident in the car, it will count against your friend (and her parents) insurance. This is what's know as a "lending loss". Also, the person you hit could come after you for payments out of your pocket as well. To be safe, you may need an Non-owner's insurance policy or your own liability policy. If you are driving this car alone, it will show that you are not an actively insured driver on the original policy which could cause some problems. If you're not named on the insurance policy, you're not insured to drive that car. Thus illegal. It doesn't matter who is in the car with you.So no.Furthermore, if you try to pass your friend's mom's insurance as your own:(Staight from the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario)(3) Every owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who,(b) surrenders an insurance card for inspection to a police officer, when requested to do so, purporting to show that the motor vehicle is insured under a contract of automobile insurance when the motor vehicle is not so insured,is guilty of an offence and is liable on a first conviction to a fine of not less than $5,000 and not more than $25,000 and on a subsequent conviction to a fine of not less than $10,000 and not more than $50,000 and, in addition, his or her driver’s licence may be suspended for a period of not more than one year.Source(s):Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario

My car is fully paid for, and I wonder what auto insurance coverage would be the less expensive and good?
liability is the cheapest. Liability plus collision if you suck at driving (you know if you do, if you get in a fender bender or close call once a year then think about it). Full coverage isn't needed anymore. Unless you're worried about an earthquake or someone vandalizing your car

Why would an auto insurance company delay a ruling?
They don't make rulings, they have "findings". If they aren't making the 'finding', that means they're missing some information, or something is unclear.Their policyholder isn't liable, until a judge says they are, or until they accept liability. Police do NOT determine fault - they only...
