Do I have to have AAA insurance to be in the auto club?

Do I have to have AAA insurance to be in the auto club? Or, can I have an insurance policy through another provider, but still be in the AAA auto club? Thanks!

you can belong to AAA without using their other services. I'm a member and I use State Farm for auto insurance.

What is the auto club? Is that like fight club?

Not in the slightest. Believe it or not AAA Roadside Assistance and AAA Insurance are two totally different companies. One might offer you a discount for being with the other, but lots of places do that. You can have the roadside assistance plan without an insurance policy, or an insurance policy without the roadside stuff, and it's all no problem.
