Do you have to have a vehicle to get an auto insurance quote?

ok so i am wondering how much insurance would be for someone like me who has no credit and never owned a car before. i have tried checking online for quotes and stuff but i dont even have a car, and the sites like geico or progressive require u to have a vehicle to even get a quote. i live in minnesota and im 24 if that makes a difference.

The type or car--sedan, coupe, SUV, convertible--can make a difference in the cost to insure, especially if you need to carry comp/collision on it. If you just want quotes on public liability/medical/UM/UIM, that doesn't generally make a difference. Just plug in a year, make and model similar to what you're interested in and ask for a quote for it for your age and location, and you should get a figure. If it asks for a name and/or email, fake it unless you enjoy spam. Some companies might ask for a VIN, so you'll have to skip their pages.
