I bought an old truck for my husband for Christmas a couple of years ago and he lost the title b4 we could get it re-registered in TX (I was stationed out of state). How can I get it switched to my name and registered without having to pay the large fee for it being so long ago?

If you lost the title before you transferred it into your name, the title is still in the name of the buyer. Contact the buyer, offer to pay for him to apply for a lost title and hope he will do that and sign it over to you again.If he won't, or you have lost touch with the seller, you will have to use the bonded title method.It's time consuming, and expensive, but there isn't much choice.
