What expenses are involved in buying a car?

I'-m going to buy a car from an auto auction. what expenses will i have to pay besides tax? like how much is the title, license and such?

Martin

in the UK you only need to tax it, insure it and pay for petrol and any maintenance costs you come across (tyres, brakes etc.) In the US, it appears the costs are largely similar but we don't have to pay to register it we have the V5 which lists everything you have the 'title' which is like the deeds for a house., a license in the UK is about ?40 these days in the US it's probably a state thing like insurance (New Hampshire for example has no legal requirement for insurance, i've met a dude from there, he's nice) .I'm getting a bike it's cheaper in many respects and can cut through traffic so can ignore traffic jams.
