What happens if someone hits your rental car?

I have a rental car and noticed one day after I got out of work, I came to my car to see that someone hit the side of my door. It is not bad at all, but a small/decent sized scrape. I have full coverage with my auto insurance who is covering for the rental car... will they cover this or what will happen? I live in NH and the rental is with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

If the dent is small in size first check what your deductibles are, then go in to the office file a claim with them. If you have a high deductible (500+) request that they wait on filing a claim with your insurance company because the damage is relatively small and there is no reason to potentially hurt your insurance premium becasue of it. They will take it to the shop very quickly and then another department will contact you regarding the rest of the claim and billing. Most offices collect customers' deductables upfront (because no one ever pays them after the fact) but if you are polite and honest they will generally be flexable with you. If the money owed is not paid after 90-120 days they write if off and send you to collections and black list you from renting cars.Source(s):6 years as a manager at Enterprise
