Which american auto insurance company covers you if you travel to canada ?

i frequently travel to canada on weekend. which auto insurance company covers you for that travel. thank you

Willster

Brother, you should have insurance on yourself and your vehicle. That will cover you if you make a trip over the border

The coverage territory on the standard auto insurance policy is US, Canada & US possessions & territories. So, to answer your question, I would say almost 100% of the US companies will cover you in Canada. Now, call your agent & get a Nonresident Interprovince Canadian ID card. This will be in English & French & will be required if you are ever in an accident or get a ticket.Source(s):Insurance agent

If you are only traveling on weekends, then they all do (all = the major companies. I can't speak for the fly by night types).Once you MOVE to Canada, they give you a grace period which varies by company. GMAC was 6 months...I seem to recall that State Farm was only 90 days....

Unlike Mexico which requires you to buy their insurance, Canada will recognize your current policy as a tourist in their country.

How is Erie auto and homeowners insurance?
I think they're great - but they are a REGIONAL carrier. When I lived in PA, I had them for house and car insurance. My PARENTS have them now, in OH, at my recommendation. But now that I live in TX, well, they don't write insurance in TX, so I'm out of luck. :D
